As I’ve told you before, and I’ll probably mention again in the near future, I love getting the opportunity to take pictures for people.
On Saturday I received a phone call asking me to take pictures at a wedding in Lee County. The wedding started in three hours and I had to make sure that I had everything I needed, not to mention finding something to wear.
Once I was ready and sitting in the driver’s seat I went over my mental check list.
Cameras placed in the car. Check.
Gas in the car. Check.
Did I place the cameras in the car? Check.
So I head off to Irvine to meet up with my “other family” as I call them, to follow them to the wedding (they had made the wedding cake).
I had no idea who the couple was or where the church was at, so I was a nervous wreck.
Would they like the pictures I would take?
Would they be understanding over me running back and forth during their ceremony?
Would there be enough lighting inside of the church?
Once the ceremony began and the camera started flashing I began to calm down.
Just do your job, Megan. You can do this.
When the groom stepped out into the center of the church I almost dropped my camera. I knew the groom and the best man from years ago. He’s the type of person who goes with the flow.
I knew then that everything would work out fine. And it did.
Their wedding was absolutely gorgeous and the newly weds were so understanding.
Oh, and the pictures that I was so worried about, turned out to be better than I could have imagined.
Every time I take pictures for someone I give them a small gift from me. To show my appreciation.
So inside of a large envelope labeled with the couples name, I put a 8 X 10 picture and a very special message from me.
“Always keep God in your hearts. May God bless you both as you begin your life together.”
